Pastor Lowell Nelson teaches a topical study about The Holy Spirit Part 4: The Gifts of the Holy Spirit on 11/12/2006 for our Sunday service.

Building on the previous week's introduction of operations, this part concentrates on the spiritual gifts found in Romans 12:6-8. The gifts are presented as a means for measuring the faith of the body of Christ and are a response to God's grace. It is emphasized that eligibility for these gifts comes from being "in Christ" through grace, not personal merit. The seven specific gifts listed in Romans 12—prophecy, ministry, teaching, exhortation, giving, leading, and showing mercy—are defined and illustrated with practical examples. A key insight is that there is no scriptural basis for "seeking out" or "knowing" one's specific gift; rather, it is about being open to God's leading and allowing Him to use believers naturally to accomplish His work.
